8. Naw Hser Tha Mote and her colleagues spend their free time in the evening at a restaurant eating and drinking together. Many teachers have fled Myanmar alone, leaving behind family. The school and their colleagues becomes their new support system.

10. At the end of the school day, Naw Hser Tha Mote marks the children's work sitting in the empty classroom alone.
